In 2005 we planted our first vines, Cabernet Franc, and what a great choice it was.
From those vines have come the best wine we have ever produced with the 2016 vintage receiving a score of 94 points from wine critic Jeb Dunnuck.
We have kept wine from each of the past (2008-present) vintages (very limited in some cases) so we could see how the wines evolve as the vineyard gets more mature as well as how it ages in the bottle. In recognition of the 10 Year Anniversary of the Lake Chelan American Viticultural Area (AVA) we are doing something we have never done before, we are offering a vertical tasting of the 2008 to 2017 Burning Desire Estate Cabernet Franc.
Twenty people will sit down with Don (grower) and Judy (winemaker) Phelps to sample each of these vintages while discussing the growing conditions that year, the vinification processes employed in the cellar, and how the wines represent the terroir of the Lake Chelan AVA.
